ASHLEE GRUNBERG

Ashlee is from Melbourne and is a level 2 APMA (Australian Pilates Method Association) qualified instructor with a long interest and deep understanding of the Pilates Method that comes from her background in dance and circus arts. Ashlee has been teaching Pilates since 2009. When Ashlee is not in the studio she can be found performing in various circus shows around Australia. Her extensive studies at NICA, Circus OZ and various recognised dance institutions strongly influence her teaching style. As a circus artist and aerialist, Ashlee performed and lived in Paris before returning to Australia to continue sharing her love of movement and Pilates with others.

BRAD INNES

Australian born Brad Inness graduated from the Australian Dance & Performance Institute in 2007 with an Advanced Diploma. He then travelled performing internationally for 10 years for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and following this to London where he featured in Franz Ferdinand “Love Illumination” music video and worked with many upcoming artists. Working alongside Combination Dance Company, Brad has performed at Twickenham Rugby Stadium, the Adelphi Theatre, West End also touring Europe and the Middle East. Brad has also taught and choreographed at some of London’s top studios; Pineapple, Frame (Shoreditch) and Soho House, where he trained several celebrities  and worked for companies such as Nike, Sweaty Betty & Lululemon. Brad has designed Barre and Fitness classes for exclusive London Berlin and Belgium studios. 

Suffice to say we are pretty stoked to add Core Candy Chapel Street to this list! You can expect to work hard in Brad's Barre classes, his energetic and unique approach to Barre will have you beach-body ready in no time, utilizing Pilates equipment with elements of Dance/Yoga/Pilates and fitness throughout all to his unique playlist. Be prepared to sweat and be inspired! 

MELISSA LANGFORD

Coming from a sports and dance background , Melissa became passionate about injury prevention and management/functional fitness after an injury sustained at the end of her dance degree in 2015. Melissa loves helping people reach their goals and thrives off pushing people to achieve more than they think they can, and has a strong focus on educating clients on how training is crucial to stress management and maintained energy levels. Melissa is also our very own competitive boxer and recently won her first ever fight taking out the Super Flyweight Title at Fight Night 4  this year !  Melissa is part of our Functional Fitness Team and you can be sure her HIIT, CORE and Kettle Fleek classes will challenge you and create serious results!

ALEX CORNISH

Alexandra has been dancing for as long as she can remember, and because of that, movement has always been a part of her life. Originally from Adelaide, Alexandra grew up training to be a ballerina, and was dancing professionally by the age of 15. She later developed a passion for Music Theatre which led to a successful audition for the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree at the end of 2018.

She was first introduced to pilates at around age 9 - doing mat Pilates classes alongside her ballet training - and her love for it only grew. Whilst she studied full time at WAAPA, she relied heavily on both pilates and barre classes, to strengthen and stretch her body, prevent injury, and create a lean physique. She knew she wanted to share her passion with others and quickly became qualified to instruct. 

Having only just moved to Melbourne, Alexandra is so excited to be joining the Core Candy Chapel Street Barre & Pilates Team and can’t wait to meet you in the studio!

MATT 

HENNEPHOF

Matt is a Level 1 Australian Boxing Coach and loves motivating and encouraging clients to get fitter, stronger and meaner through learning correct boxing technique! Boxing is an awesome form of fitness which not only improves your fitness but also increases your self confidence, body awareness, coordination and quick-twitch motor skills. Even if you've never boxed before Matt can show you the basics and get you boxing with confidence before you know it! Originally from New Zealand, Matt is also an avid motorsports fan and competes in car and cart racing, and is a general lover of all things sports. You may also spot him holding down the fort on the Core Candy Chapel Street reception desk from time-to-time!

ANNA KAREN MARTIN

Born in New Zealand, Anna was a professional dancer (jazz and cabaret/burlesque) and dance teacher before becoming qualified as a Pilates instructor here in Melbourne. Following a dance-related injury more than 10 years ago, Anna commenced her Pilates journey, and Pilates quickly became a staple in her weekly routine. Anna is a huge advocate of the Pilates Method and its benefits - not only in relation to injury prevention, strength and performance enhancement for elite athletes and dancers, but also to improve the safety and efficiency of functional movement in everyday life. 

Anna's expertise and passion as a Pilates instructor fuses with her flare as a dance teacher in the delivery of her Barre and Booty Werk classes. Anna's Barre workouts are dynamic, fun and engaging, inspired by the original Lotte Berk method and retaining elements of classical ballet technique. They promise to challenge lower and upper body strength, balance, coordination and stamina, all with an overlay of technical dance, and to great music!  Along with Barre and Pilates Anna also teaches HIIT, CORE and Kettle Fleek classes at Core Candy Chapel Street. Be prepared to sweat and to laugh!
